Phantom Brigade will move to Steam and 1.0 later this month

Tactical shooting game ghost brigade has been held by two early access prisons and the Epic Games Store for several years now, but it will soon be released. Brace Yourself developers say it will hit 1.0 and arrive on Steam on the same date: February 28.

Here’s the 1.0 release date trailer:

If you didn’t know: Phantom Brigade is a tactical RPG in which you move across a dynamic campaign map and deploy teams of mechs into battle. Combat is a mix of turn-based and real-time, with move and fire commands executed simultaneously, Frozen Synapse style. Once you’ve finished traversing the cities and suburbs to wipe out your opponents, you’ll retreat to your base – a large train – to repair and retool.

I played Phantom Brigade in early access and liked almost everything about it. It feels great to nail enemies from across town, break buildings as you escape, and that creates a real tension from the need to protect both your machines and your pilots. What I didn’t like were all the things like the quirky user interface, boring or absent tutorials, and generally very few quests and mechanics; everything I hope has been refined over years of regular content updates.

Wait, I just checked what they added in the most recent update, fire testand it’s a revamped tutorial, tooltip, and user interface.

I’ll be returning to Phantom Brigade when it comes out later this month, but if you don’t trust my enthusiasm, I know you will trust Sin’s.
