Peter Garrett, who runs Midnight Oil is a legendary Australian performer.
And the 69-year-old star confirmed it again when he took to the stage on the third day of France’s biggest music festival, Vieilles Charrues.

The singer has performed hits including Beds Are Burning and The Power and the Passion.
Vieilles Charrues is the largest music festival in France, with more than 200,000 people attending the multi-day event each year.

This year marks the festival’s 30th anniversary, with DJ Snake, Queens of the Stone Age and Bob Sinclair performing on stage.
It came after Peter was locked in a war of words with United Australia Party chairman Clive Palmer.

The outspoken popular singer made the remark during one of the band’s performances at Sunshine Coast Stadium on April 9.
Garrett argues that Palmer is unfit to hold public office after a series of scandals have rocked the mining magnate’s reputation over the past few years.
Garrett, who is known for his political jokes on stage, said on the show.

Palmer hit back at the legendary rocker at the launch of his campaign in Coolum, Queensland.
He began by saying that Garrett was an ‘intellectual’ and ‘a good guy’, even claiming that he liked Midnight Oil’s politically progressive music.

But he made a bitter remark about the rocker as he bragged about his wealth.
