Disney Plus has selected the cast of the upcoming series Percy Jackson and the Olympic athletes.
Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri have been added as Annabeth and Grover, Variety reported.
The Disney Plus series will be based on author Rick Riordan’s fantasy novel series, with production underway this summer.

Two child actors join Walker Scobell as he takes on the lead role of Percy, a 12-year-old boy just beginning to grasp the superhuman powers he possesses.
The series of books written by Rick Riordan went live on the streaming platform in January.
The story follows Jackson – a half-human, half-immortal demigod – who is accused by the sky god Zeus of stealing his master’s lightning bolt.
Percy must now journey across America to find this lightning and return to meet Zeus on Mount Olympus.

Jackson is described as ‘an intelligent and kind child with a keen sense of humour’, who considers himself an outsider due to his ADHD and dyslexia.
‘He is impulsive and liar and quickly gets angry when things don’t seem fair to him. But underneath his skepticism lies an affectionate son and a loyal friend who only wants to be right with the people he cares about. If only he could find a place that suits him,’ read the character description.
Author Riordan will co-write the pilot with Jon Steinberg, with James Bobin directing the pilot episode.
Steinberg will oversee the series alongside producing partner Dan Shotz, who will also executive produce alongside Riordan, Bobin, Rebecca Riordan, Bert Salke, Monica Owusu-Breen, Jim Rowe and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and DJ Goldberg of Gotham Group.
Earlier this year, Riordan said that Scobell had done ‘chemistry’ with the finalists for the other two main roles – Percy’s friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood, teasingly: ‘I believe the two That role is getting very close to being finalized and announced. ‘
Riordan’s first book – Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief – was adapted into a feature film in 2010, starring Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase, and Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood.
They also starred in the 2013 sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, although the other books in the series were never adapted.
