People ‘trapped under rubble’ after large blast hits Armenian market | World News
At least one person died and 20 were injured after an explosion at a large market in Armenia.
The explosion occurred at a building in the Surmalu market in the capital Yerevan.
The Interfax news agency, citing the country’s emergency service, said the building had sold fireworks.
The city’s mayor was quoted by Russian state news agency Tass as saying that several people were trapped in the rubble.
The market is just over a mile south of the city center.
