Pebble Beach Best of Show, Bugatti Mistral, Koenigsegg CC850: Car News Today
A 1932 Duesenberg wins Best of Show at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2022. The award has not been given to an American car since 2013, and it has been given to a Mercedes-Benz in 2021. The Duesenberg is owned by Lee and Penny Anderson of Naples, Florida. Concours President Sandra Button describes the car as a combination of “American power and European style.”
The end of the road for Bugatti’s W16 engine has arrived. The final installment debuted in Monterey as the Bugatti Mistral, a roadster that closed the chapter on both the W-16 enigne and the Chiron variants. There will be only 99 pieces produced at around $5 million each and all have been requested by well-off buyers.
The Koenigsegg CC850 was launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its first car, the CC8S. It also coincides with the 50th birthday of founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg, and so there will only be 50 examples given.
