Racers competing at Saratoga Racecourse will participate in a series of activities on Saturday, July 30 to raise awareness and fund the Permanently Disability Jockeys Foundation (PDJF).

Highlighting the day’s events will be a special meet, greet and autograph session with riders from the equestrian colony Saratoga, who will sign autographs on the Jockey Silks Room Stadium from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Fans who donate to the PDJF will receive a commemorative poster.

This year, PDJF Day was chosen to coincide with National Independence Day for Persons with Disabilities this week, marking the 32nd anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), passed by the United States Congress and signed into law by President George HW Bush in 1990

Terry Meyocks, President and CEO of Jockeys’ Foundation and member of the Board of Directors of the PDJF. “We are also extremely grateful to all of the financial contributors to the PDFF.”

In conjunction with PDJF Day, the Jockeys’ Permanent Disability Foundation will be featured at the Outreach Booth on Saturday. The PDJF provides financial assistance to former equestrian athletes who have suffered serious injuries along the way. Since its founding in 2006, the fund has disbursed nearly $11 million to drivers with permanent disabilities.
