PBA: Vic Manuel set for San Miguel return, Terrence Romeo needs more time for recovery
ANTIPOLO—New San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent has provided an update on two of the team’s key teammates Vic Manuel and Terrence Romeo following the Beermen’s 114-93 win over Phoenix in their first game. them at the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Gallent confirmed Vic Manuel will return to play for the Beermen as early as next week after sustaining a calf injury.
However, Terrence Romeo will have to miss longer because of a hamstring injury. He is expected to return in two weeks.
Gallent, who take over as multi-title coach Leo Austriasaid he understands the recovery time of both players, saying it will yield good results in the long run.
“I’m sure Terrence and Vic, when they come back, will be in really good shape. Just make adjustments to their stamina,” he said at the Ynares Antipolo Center on Sunday.
“I am sure when they come back they will be very ready.
In seven games playing for the Beermen in the Commissions’ Cup, Romeo averaged 12.7 points, 1.9 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game.
Manuel, on the other hand, posted the 9.6 points and £2.7-a-night norms for San Miguel during the same conference.
The defending All-Philippines Cup champions will travel to Pasig on Wednesday to face Blackwater Bossing.
However, it remains unclear whether Manuel will be available for the aforementioned match.
