ANTIPOLO CITY – San Miguel Beer for short posted its first consecutive win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup after beating NorthPort, 104-86, on Wednesday at the Ynares Center here.

Import Devon Scott scored 25 points and 16 rebounds in another strong performance as the Beermen showed signs of moving up the ladder after improving to 3-3 mid-Qualifiers.

The Philippine Cup holders prevailed with little difficulty despite the lack of service from veterans Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross.

Lassiter has been placed according to health and safety procedures following the sizzling screen shot at the top Beermen’s victory over NLEX Road Warriors Last Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena while Ross had swollen knees.

San Miguel has been without the services of Terrence Romeo since the Philippine Cup with a back problem and June Mar Fajardo, who has been sidelined for a fourth game in a row after a throat surgery.

Simon Enciso and Robbie Herndon added 14 and 11 points respectively in a game that saw San Miguel take a 25-percent lead.

NorthPort fell 3-4 after consecutive setbacks, preventing rookie William Navarro from starting his PBA campaign with a winning record.
