MANILA, Philippines—Jonathon Simmons sparked NLEX to a 110-108 win from behind against TNT on Wednesday in his short penultimate game of the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Philsports Arena in City. Pasig Street.

Simmons picked up 45 points as the Road Warriors overcame a 15-point shortfall and shared the lead with idle Converge FiberXers 3-0 ahead of their sister team Tropang Giga.

“I really don’t know what happened and how we won the game. I think it was a losing game,” said NLEX coach Frankie Lim.

NLEX prevailed despite overcoming an early strike from TNT’s Jalen Hudson, who scored 21 of his 39 points in the first quarter.

But the Road Warriors made a comeback led by Simmons and with the help of teammates, who also played a key role in the victory.

Kevin Alas scored 10 of his 13 points in the fourth inning, Sean Anthony scored 15 and six rebounds while Tony Semerad and Kris Rosales combined for 18.

The Road Warriors took the lead by 10 consecutive points, with Simmons taking the lead with a 104-98 jump.
But TNT had a chance to force overtime with 5 seconds left but RR Pogoy, who had 21 points, missed a mess before the whistle blew.

TNT lost after two wins to open the season-ending conference.
