“MLA pressured me for a whole year to complete the work he wanted, including the reinstatement of a transferred panchayat secretary, Sandeep Dwivedi. I made it clear to him through called on Tuesday to ask me to transfer, but he told me he told reporters just hours after the phone conversation the attack happened to me. “.

An audio recording of the purported conversation was widely circulated before the attack, which took place on Tuesday night. In the clip, a man, purportedly MLA, is heard threatening someone about some pending work and abusing him.

Mr. Tripathi, who represents the Semariya constituency, has denied the allegations and said there was a political conspiracy to tarnish his image, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.

Mr Mishra said the attack was carried out by about 20 armed men, including a local BJP leader believed to be close to Mr.

Mr Mishra said: ‘I was returning from an official job in a car driven by my driver when 18-20 men with guns stopped the car and parked right in front of it. “Because the car door was locked from the inside, they broke the window and dragged me out. Then they attacked me indiscriminately and left,” he added.

The 58-year-old said he had identified three of the attackers – “BJP chairman Bankuiyan Mandal Manish Shukla and two others, Vinay Shukla and Vivek Gautam”.

District collector Manoj Pushp said Mr Mishra is currently being treated at Sanjay Gandhi hospital.

Anil Sonkar, a senior officer with Rewa police, said a case was handled under various categories against 18-20 people, including the three named accused. “An investigation is underway into other allegations by CEO Janpad Panchayat. No arrests have been made to date,” he added.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee media chief KK Mishra claimed the BJP legislator was involved in the incident. “It was clear who attacked the panchayat department official when the incident happened after the tape recording of his argument with the BJP legislator appeared. Everything is clear,” he was quoted as saying by PTI. word.

BJP District Chairman Ajay Singh said the charges against the lawmaker are baseless and that action against the BJP leaders, who are named in the case, will be taken after verifying the facts, PTI reported.
