CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda has confirmed that he has accepted to help Converge FiberXers as team manager for the third season of the 47th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) convention.
Pineda assured that his official duties as governor of Pampanga would not be affected, due to the manner in which he was disciplined.
He said this in a social media post an hour after Atty. Chito Salud, PBA group governor, Converge executive vice president and head of government relations and sporting affairs, announced the appointment of Pineda and Franzl Jacob Lao as assistant team managers.
“The governor’s long-term relationship and shared passion for basketball is no less than ours,” said Salud. [Chief Executive Officer] Dennis Uy will bring the team championships that are built with exceptional attention, focus and long-term strategic thinking for the team.”
Pineda has produced professional basketball players in its sports barn like Arwind Santos.
Converge, coached by Aldin Ayo, is currently in the best quarterfinal series against San Miguel at the ongoing 2022 PBA Commissioners Cup, lost game 1 on Wednesday.
