The Take That singer went to rehab in the US for his addiction to alcohol, prescription drugs and other drugs but has since been sober – he hasn’t touched a drink in over 20 years. Speaking on the Bought the T-Shirt podcast, he describes painkillers as “evil stuff”.
“I think drugs are like an Ouija board and you don’t know what you’re opening,” he said.
“I think when people talk about demons and their classification of demons, I think they really are demons.”
Let me tell you, the worst time I’ve had with drugs is pain medication.
“There is no such thing as a day trip or a walk in the park, but painkillers are evil. Meanwhile, the holders of patents for those pain relievers now live in homes of 50,000 square meters.”
Williams has a history of going in and out of rehab. Before rehabilitation in the states, the star first visited a clinic after a drunken workout shortly after he left Take That in 1995.

He was treated at the Clouds rehab clinic in Wiltshire.
In his book, Reveal, he opens up about his anxiety problem and identifies drugs he’s used in the past: morphine, Adderall, Vicodin, speed, Seroquel, cocaine, and ghost mushrooms art and some “others”.
In an appearance on his podcast, he describes taking drugs to “fill in the blanks”.
He said, “When fame came to me so early, when I was 16 when I was on Take That, it brought out all the negative aspects of who I am.
“Before that I was quite content but I was vulnerable and extremely sensitive. I feel like I was born with an open wound.
“Then, when I was thrown into the pit of this show business, it magnified the negative aspects of my own lack of confidence.
“I took drugs to become the person the world told me I should be. When I’m actually an introvert, and I’m an introvert is fine. ”
Williams is not alone. Countless lives have been affected by addiction to painkillers. The situation is especially exciting in the US.
According to statistics from the National Center on Drug Abuse, about six percent of Americans over the age of 12 abuse prescription drugs each year.
Furthermore, 12 percent of people who abuse drugs are addicted.
Meanwhile, physical signs can be profuse sweating, dilated pupils, coordination problems, and trouble sleeping.
Other symptoms include sleeping too much and itching.
Addiction to prescription drugs can cause many complications.
The Priory team explains: “Addiction to painkillers can cause someone to suffer liver and kidney damage as well as seizures.
“When someone becomes addicted and has increased tolerance to pain medication, they are also likely to take higher doses. These high doses can lead to respiratory depression, which causes breathing to slow down, heart rate to drop, and blood pressure to drop.”
