‘Ownership’ based on March subscription



REGISTRATION-based ‘car ownership’ could be an attractive alternative to traditional vehicle leasing, financing or ownership under a new scheme led by Kinto, a ‘rental’ company automobile’ owned by Toyota, introduced.

In essence, Kinto Flex offers an all-inclusive car rental package, giving customers the benefits of car ownership without the need for a long-term commitment. The company says its new subscription offers affordability, flexibility, safety and sustainability.

It offers customers the option to book a car to suit most needs across a network of over 160 locations across the country (Australia).

Kinto says it has created a car service that “really adapts” to users’ lifestyles, allowing them to shorten or extend subscriptions and monthly payments.

As far as sustainability is concerned, the company says Kinto Flex is “powered by a reliable Toyota fleet and with a passenger vehicle fleet comprising more than 97% hybrids”.

The program is available nationwide and applies to a wide range of Toyota vehicles from small hatchbacks for city errands to a family SUV. Users can drive as little or as much as they need without having to charge extra kilometers or pay extra driver fees as is the case with traditional car rental companies.

All aspects of the service are managed through Kinto’s purpose-built smartphone app from registering and receiving the vehicle, unlocking the vehicle and hitting the road. The whole process is digitized and self-service.
