Thoroughbred owner Wang Ruiqing rode his own pony Xin Nian Zhi Huo (Chi) (Chivalry (Aus) to win the 1000 meters race at Yulong Circuit on Saturday. this foal went mid-circle early and was on his fifth turn entering the final 400 meters.Crossing the long electric pole, the pony trained by Zhang Mingliang rushed forward and brought Ruiqing a close victory. was Ruiqing’s first victory in a Thoroughbred race.
A delighted Wang replied after the race, “I started my professional jockey training when most horse racers were reaching retirement age. Seven years of hard work is a witness to my riding dream. I would like to thank the Yulong Horse Racing Club, my mentor Zhang Mingliang, and all of my friends and family for their unwavering support and understanding. “
A veteran pigeon rancher, Wang developed a passion for horses about seven years ago. He bought a pony named Hui Tong Tian Xia (Chi), which later became the double horse of the Chinese year (2018 – 2019). Ruiqing started his own jockey training while working for his steady star. Two years of dedication earned him a Child Driver’s license from the International Racing Academy in 2018.
Ruiqing, who regularly rides his bike in the morning, currently has 28 starts.
