Owami Davies: Fifth man arrested over disappearance of student nurse as Met Police renew appeal | UK News



A fifth man has been arrested over the disappearance of nurse Owami Davies, with the Met Police having extended their appeal for information a month since her last sighting was confirmed. .

Police have now arrested five people – two on suspicion of murder and three on suspicion of kidnapping.

The most recent arrest was of a 33-year-old man who was detained on suspicion of kidnapping on Saturday.

Four of those arrested have been released on bail.

Owami was last seen in the early hours of July 7 as she walked along Derby Road, West Croydon.

She had left her family home in Grays, Essex three days earlier.

Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a complex ongoing investigation involving a significant number of officers.

“We are working tirelessly to monitor every line of investigation, including extensive CCTV systems, as we continue our search for Owami.

“It’s been a month since we last confirmed seeing her. I can’t imagine what that time has been like for her family. We continue to provide them with whatever it takes. any support possible.

“I’m grateful for the help we’ve received from the public so far, but again I must urge anyone with information – no matter how insignificant they believe it is – to get in touch. .”

The Met’s Special Crime Command is leading the investigation to determine what happened to Owami.
