precaution 2 is celebrating the Lunar New Year with a Year of the Rabbit event, featuring new skins, free rewards, a new arcade mode, and Twitch rewards. details in one blog post, the Year of the Rabbit event marks the final event of Season 2 of Overwatch 2, which ends in February. The event includes multiple arcade modes, including Capture the Flag and Bounty Hunter. The Year of the Rabbit runs from January 17 to February 1.
Multiple arcade modes
Five Rabbits features multiple versions of the classic game mode, Capture the Flag. There is a regular version and a blitz version, with the blitz mode having closer flag spawn points, making the version faster. There is also a competitive version of the mode that was added earlier in the week and will be available for the remainder of Season 2, allowing players to enjoy an intense version of Capture the Flag where they can climb competitive ranks.
The other arcade mode is the free-for-all Bounty Hunter mode. The first person to record a murder will receive a bounty for their head. While you have a bounty on you, you will get extra points for kills, but you will be visible to all other players on the map. If you kill someone with a bounty, it will be transferred to you. As with previous events, there are challenges based on these arcade modes, with the legendary Kkachi Echo skin available as a free bonus.
The challenges of the year of the Rabbit are:
- Lucky Bag – Complete 2 Tet challenges – Lucky Bag Weapon Charm
- Good Fortune Kkachi – Complete 4 challenges during the Lunar New Year – KKachi Echo Skin
- Mark of the Rabbit – Win 10 games in Bounty Hunter – Year of the Rabbit Spray, 1000 XP for passing the battle
- Sixth Time’s the Charm – Eliminates bonus target 6 times – 1000 battle pass XP
- Lucky Rabbit – Win 6 games in competitive CTF or CTF – Five Rabbit Name Card, 1000 Battle XP
- Good Victory – Win 8 matches in CTF Blitz – Hongbao Souvenir, 1000 XP in battle
- Catch the Rabbit – Capture the flag in CTF or CTF Blitz – 1000 XP pass the battle
New Mei skins and Twitch rewards
In addition to the free rewards available for completing challenges, there are a wide variety of skins available in the store. The new Mei epic costume, Hu Tou Mao, is now available in the store, along with the old Lunar New Year event costume collection. The Overwatch 2 store rotates every Tuesday, so there could be more new skins and cosmetics after the event.
There are also two other cosmetic items that can be earned for free by watching Overwatch 2 streamers during the event. To watch the two hours, you unlock Moira’s Roaring Lion Victory Pose. For four hours, you can unlock the Masked Dancer Legend skin for Moira, which was launched during a previous Lunar New Year event. Make sure you linked your Battle.net account to your Twitch account to claim your rewards.
