Via Sean Cronin
Back in the spotlight after putting on a 6 1/2 wits match against superior opponents in a bout with six-haired novices at Newmarket last month, Godolphin’s 2-year-old thoroughbred foal Naughty Magic (Ire) (Exceed And Excel {Aus} –Veil Of Silence {Ire}, by Elusive Quality) was similarly destructive during G3 Uniboosts A Day Sirenia S. in Kempton on Saturday. He debuted earlier with third place behind G2 Richmond S. winning Royal Scotsman (Ire) (Gleneagles {Ire}) crossed Goodwood’s six spiked hairpins in May before breaking through, tackling the same gap, at Newmarket in late July in his penultimate start. The final winner gets the widest draw in the draw of 10 and finds a comfortable rhythm in the back, with just one person behind, all the way halfway. Inching along to approach the quarter-mile marker, the favorite 11-5 was supercharged on the outside and powered by all but one of his rivals in impressive style to win. win, go far, by two distances from Trust (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) for a high career.
