Our Jungalow Designed Opalhouse Collection Autumn is here!

Summer is coming to an end, and I’m ready for all those cozy fall vibes – gather a few loved ones around the dinner table, cuddle up with a good book under a warm blanket and add a little bit of nothingness. Festive gas into the mix! This season, the autumn winds are blowing New Opalhouse designed with Jungalow collection which I am very happy and proud of.

We were working on designs for this collection last year at this point. I miss family and friends, travel and imagine what next fall will be like. And so I have included in this collection my Mediterranean travel dreams, in hopes of graceful Thanksgiving layered countertops surrounded by loved ones and symbols of the world. peaceful, quiet, playful and positive. Although this year we may not be able to visit faraway places or have large gatherings, I hope that this collection will help you invite some of those peaceful vibes, calm, joyful and positive into your home and celebrate all of those things we can be grateful for.

Today, I’m going to share some of my favorite pieces from the collection and give you a peek into the design process!

For this collection, we lean towards natural materials. From the furniture in front of the sugar cane to raffia coated mirror (this one in the picture above is just $50!) terracotta decorative accents painted in bold black and white. Not to mention terracotta pumpkin candle that I burned non-stop (and they smelled Therefore good).

But we also rely on nature inspiration. You will find out love pigeon, spiritual squirrel and optimistic owls appear a few times alongside artwork and pillows honoring autumn trees, flowers and fruit.

When the good guys at Target asked if I could work on designs for fall countertops that can be used daily but also wearable for the holidays, I was excited! First of all, this is my first time working with a collection of countertops, and I love trying new things, and second, I love using my wild imagination to think about how designs can be combined and combined in different ways.

My starting point for the table top collection sun picture. I think having solid plates makes it easy to dress up or down the plates – the same way one can add jewelry and a pair of heels to a simple one-piece dress to create feel more fancy. But I’m a maximalist, I wanted the plates to have a bit of personality so going with an unusual silhouette (the sun) felt like the right move. I’m obsessed with the way the Sunstone is pointed plate and Bowl was released. The quality is amazing and they cost $20 for a pack of four.

From there, I began to experience joy! Two-tone appetizer plate Bring a variety of beautiful colors and serve plate and Bowl Highlight my artwork plus the pattern that I love. And then this one bronze peace tray which I had dreamed of for years, finally came true and was only 24 dollars.

For the countertop textiles, I followed my usual rhythm – mixing plant-inspired textures with graphic ones – in this case, I paired tablecloths there’s one of my watercolors with falling leaves striped black and white runner and napkin to provide the kind of contrast that I love.

Add in some ceramics, pumpkin, tassels and a finely crafted center piece and you’ve got yourself a festive table top without the fuss!

I thought it would be fun to share some of my renderings and original artwork with you collect to see behind the curtain! The way the design process works is that the amazing design team at Target provides me with a line map – meaning they share what types of items they like to see design and quantity. So they might say – we need five ideas for seats, five mirrors and four lights (etc). From there, I went back and created a mood board, then worked with my design team (you look like Piper!) to pick colors, develop templates, and create renders and references for it all. all of our ideas. Then we introduced the concepts back to the design team at Target.

Then, Target members internalize our concepts and hone the ideas to bring things to life. Seeing the first samples is always a very exciting part of the process. From there, we work together to edit, refine, and make any adjustments. Above is a selection of some of my artwork and renderings, which were part of our initial pitch for this fall variety. I am so impressed and amazed by the Target design team and how they bring our designs to life, capture the spirit of the original designs and offer products at affordable prices. such an approach.
