Oppo is said to be working on its own smartphone processor and could soon launch on the company’s upcoming handsets. While Oppo has used chipsets from manufacturers like Qualcomm and MediaTek so far, the company is said to be working on their own processors. According to a reliable source, the Chinese smartphone maker is working on a dedicated chipset that will power their smartphones next year. The company is said to have hired thousands of workers for the project. However, the company has yet to officially announce any plans to develop its own smartphone SoC.
According to a recent tweet by tipster Ice Universe, oppo may be working on independent development of processors that can be used in smartphones as soon as 2024. Other major smartphone manufacturers have previously shown an interest in developing chipsets. dedicated processing, either in cooperation with other chip manufacturers or through independent research and development.

Oppo has also hired a chip development team of thousands of dedicated experts on the matter, the tip said, more that this chip could be used on Oppo phones by 2024.
Other smartphone manufacturers have chosen to partner with other chipmakers like Samsung or Qualcomm because building a chipset from scratch is considered an extremely complex process.
Google previously cooperated with Korean corporation SAMSUNG to design its own Tensor chipset featured on Pixel 6 series. The company also worked on a second generation Tenor G2 Google’s latest power supply chip Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro.
Samsung has also report has formed a dedicated application processing (AP) team and may be planning a custom chip for its Galaxy smartphones, separate from the Exynos chips provided by Samsung System LSI.
MediaTek previously announced Dimension 5G mở Open Resource Architecture sought to make its chipsets available for custom smartphone manufacturers, according to a report by GSM Arena.
