Rumors of OnePlus working on a foldable device have been around for quite some time, and the CEO’s post just confirmed it. The current, foldable phones, since they first appeared on the market, have been marketed as premium products that budget-conscious users will steer clear of. Initially, Samsung and Huawei emerged as the leaders with their foldable products and soon followed by other brands such as Xiaomi, Honor, Microsoft and Samsung. Oppo have also launched their foldable devices. However, only Samsung’s foldable smartphone is intended for the mass market. Others have limited numbers.
OnePlus could really change the game by bringing an ‘affordable’ foldable flagship device, something the current foldable device market lacks. That is a high possibility. The company can build on what Oppo did with the Find N and its pricing strategy could turn a profit for them with its foldable device. Now that the CEO has revealed the device himself, we hope to see more design and details about this foldable soon.

Xiaomi recently launched Mi Mix Fold 2. The company’s second foldable phone after the Mi Mix Fold launching in 2021.
