One Piece Odyssey is a new role-playing game developed by Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Team
Despite its acclaim and popularity, One mouthful continues to be an annoying viewing experience because of the unprecedented number of episodes. Good games like Pirate Warrior series and World Seeker is there to quickly help fill in any story gaps or extra content that players haven’t seen. And now, a new RPG called One Piece Odyssey is joining that ever-growing category. The team behind last year’s Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are directing the game’s development.
The One Piece Odyssey trailer (seen above) begins with praise from legendary One Piece mangaka and One Piece Odyssey author Eiichiro Oda: “I thought to myself – it’s not like it was 3 years ago when I design the characters [for Odyssey]?! Hahaha! But when I actually watch the game… Wow! Felt like I was watching a MOVIIIIE!!! What an amazing immersion!! “And given the size of the game’s world – monster beaches, underground caves, open seas – Odyssey could be the console adventure readers and viewers have been waiting for. Luffy, all Still, the star remains, and his quirky band of pirates will accompany him on his latest quest.
Ilca, Inc. responsible for developing the RPG, while composer Motoi Sakuraba’s Tales brings his talents to the soundtrack. There will be plenty of boss battles, team member-exclusive abilities, and exciting plot twists to explore. The trailer states and amazingly concludes, “Let’s enter a time of tears and laughter. Let’s travel to the heart of memory. This point in history should never have happened. out…”

I have no idea what that means [Editor’s note: I’m caught up on the manga and also have no idea – JC]but I’m sure One Piece fans will be excited to know when this RPG launches sometime this year for the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PC.
