A man was stabbed and repeatedly stabbed by unidentified assailants tonight in Karnataka’s Mangaluru. The attack by four masked men was captured in a CCTV camera installed in the lane outside. Police said Fazil, 25, was in critical condition.
Immediately after the attack, mass gathering bans were put in place in Suratkal and surrounding areas. The atmosphere in the Dakshina Kannada district was tense after a BJP youth leader, Praveen Nettar, was attacked to death on Tuesday night.

Fazil was talking to an acquaintance when the attackers got out of his car and ran towards him, police said.
CCTV footage from the street shows the men – – their faces covered with black cloth masks – attacking the man outside a clothing store. He was repeatedly beaten with sticks and stabbed. Even after he collapsed, a dummy fell on him, one of the men continued to beat him.
The reason for the attack has yet to be determined, and a manhunt is underway for the suspect, police said.
Araga State Interior Minister Jnanendra said, “Following the murder in Suratkal, as a precautionary measure, additional police officers were directed to be deployed in Dakshina Kannada district to maintain law and order. ban has been enforced at six police stations. Anyone who tries to take the law into their own hands will be prosecuted.”
