Omega Seiki cooperates with Agri Junction to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles to serve the needs of the rural market


Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) on Friday announced a strategic partnership with Agri Junction to deploy more than 10,000 electric two- and three-wheelers in rural markets during the current financial year.

In the first phase, the vehicles will be introduced in the tier II and III markets of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, the two companies said in a joint statement.

The Faridabad-headquartered Omega Seiki product line includes the Rage+ electric tricycle, the Stream passenger electric tricycle and the M1KA light commercial vehicle.

The company said it will roll out the Rage+ and Stream ranges along with specialized new product lines such as Mopedo e-bikes, Stream City, drones and tractors to serve the needs of the agricultural market. village.

Agri Junction, a digital marketplace for agricultural products, will assist with vehicle deployment, listing OSM vehicles on its website, providing access to credit through PM Mudra Yojana, establish tram infrastructure, among others, the statement said.

On the other hand, OSM will provide electric vehicles, establish charging infrastructure and R&D team to develop new products specifically for rural Indian market.

“OSM is testing its electric tractors at R&D centers in Korea and Thailand and will bring new tractor-as-a-service and rental concepts to tier II and III markets by 2023.” Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of OSM, said.

Agri Junction is a supplier of agricultural seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, machinery and equipment, with presence in 10 rural cities of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The Super App is said to provide detailed information about the location of electric vehicle charging stations and their availability in real time. The government is working with the state-run Converged Energy Services Limited (CESL) to develop the app.

The application will display fare information of toll stations and allow users to make and change reservations at nearby stations. CESL will also set up 810 electric vehicle charging stations on 16 highways and highways, according to CESL.
