Honestly, I’m completely new to trends for borrowers. I’ve bought and watched them on Instagram and TikTok time and time again, but I’ve never actually added them to my cart. That is, until last week, when I came across Chunky loafers with faux leather heels ($40) at Old Navy. I am intrigued by many reasons, the biggest reason being that they are affordable and the parts are comparable, modern and timeless. They have lug soles similar to those I’ve seen on countless celebrities, but the shape stays true to the look of a classic loafer. What I like about these loafers
These loafers are therefore feel comfortable that it’s hard to believe the price tag – and I’m not the only Old Navy shopper who thinks so. Scroll through the ratings on Old Navy’s website, and you’ll find that nearly every review attests to how comfortable they are. The footbeds are made of cushioned knit that I can wear all day without taking them off – as is the case with many of my shoes.
One thing I like about these loafers is their patent imitation shine, which makes them look classy. I wear them with baggy blue jeansbut I can’t wait to wear them with trousers and short skirt. P.S.: if you take a moment to google “patent leather loafers”, you’ll find that many looks that look alike are pairs – if not triple – price. (Run, don’t walk, people.)
I admit that I acted *a bit* too quickly when adding these to my cart and didn’t pay attention to the size. If I scroll to the reviews, I will notice that many users have attested that they run great. Instead, I went up to a size and a half from my usual 9.5, thinking I might want a little more room for the socks. But I ended up getting more room than I was hoping for – and so I’ll trade this pair for one that’s half smaller. Sure be aware of that before you make the same mistake I did.
