Ola Electric launched its first electric scooter in August 2021. The EV maker started rolling out the S1 and S1 Pro scooters from last December.
Ola Electric has become one of the fastest electric vehicle manufacturers in India, rolling out ten thousand units. Launched less than a year ago, Ola Electric has recently reached this important milestone. It has launched EV from its FutureFactory in Tamil Nadu. Ola sells electric scooters S1 Pro and S1 in India. It also debuted a new S1 Air electric scooter during Diwali last month. Ola Electric is currently the largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India with about 20,000 units sold in October alone.
Announcing Ola’s achievement, Bhavish Aggarwal, its CEO and Founder, took to social media saying: “Over 10,000 cars were produced yesterday. In just 10 months of production, probably the fastest ever for a new auto company in India. “Before that, he said, ‘Almost every second scooter goes on sale 1 Lakh segment plus one Ola S1. With a strong product offering, we will replicate this growth in every two-wheeler segment. “
Ola now offers S1 electric car with price 99,999 (old showroom) and S1 Pro at 1,39,999 (factory). Ola Electric also added the S1 Air, a new model of electric scooter, recently at the price 84,999 (factory). It is aimed at more affordable electric motorcycles. Customers can pre-order Ola S1 Air for 999 when the purchase window opens in February next year. Deliveries are expected to begin in April.
With nearly 70,000 units sold since January this year, Ola Palace could aim to hit 10,000 sales by 2022. If it does, Ola will become the first electric vehicle maker in India to hit six-figure sales in a calendar year.
Ola Electric also recently revealed its plans to launch electric vehicles in India. The company has introduced the EV concept that promises to change the way electric vehicles made in India are viewed.
