Odisha restaurant owner pours hot oil on customer because of price argument

Police say a case has been filed

Jajpur (Odisha):

A 48-year-old man suffered severe burns after the owner of a restaurant in Odisha’s Jajpur district allegedly threw hot oil at him following an argument over the food’s taste and price, police said on Sunday. .

Prasanjit Parida – a resident of Balichandrapur village, about 45 kilometers northeast of Cuttack – went to a local market eatery to eat on Saturday, a policeman said.

Parida complained to the owner, Pravakar Sahoo, about the taste of the food served to him. After that, there was a heated exchange between the customer and the owner about the price of the food.

Sahoo poured hot oil on Parida, who suffered severe burns to her face, neck, chest, abdomen and hands. He is receiving treatment at SCB Hospital and Medical College in Cuttack.

A case has been filed and the suspect will be arrested soon, said Ramakanta Muduli, Inspector of Balichandrapur Police Department.
