NYRA will host Aug. 24 in Saratoga


The New York Racing Association will hold a day-long tribute and fundraising for Ukraine at Saratoga Racecourse on Wednesday, August 24, which corresponds to the date Ukraine declared its independence from the former Soviet Union next year. 1991. Fans are encouraged to wear yellow and blue to celebrate Ukraine and the Ukrainian flag will fly above the field in the Saratoga racecourse, adjacent to the American flag.

Members of the U.S. Ukrainian Congressional Committee (UCCA), the largest nonprofit organization in the United States dedicated to promoting and supporting the role of Ukrainian Americans, will accept donations and distribute flyers. Drops and stickers at the entrance from 11am to 5pm. UCCA is dedicated to providing aid to war-torn Ukraine and displaced citizens.

Dr Andrij Baran, President of the UCCA Capital District Chapter, said: “We are overwhelmed and humbled by the opportunity to celebrate Ukraine Day at Saratoga Racecourse during the important occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day. “We thank the Capital District Community for the tremendous support they are providing to Ukraine. We are looking forward to a very successful event in raising funds and raising awareness during the difficult time that Ukraine is going through.”

UCCA volunteers will staff the Community Outreach Booth at Saratoga Racecourse from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., where they will discuss their mission, donate, and sell t-shirts, bags, and pins and related supplies to support fundraising efforts.
