NYRA Offers Two New Bonus Programs for Teens

New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced two new bounty programs for ponies competing at the spring/summer 2023 meet at Belmont Park, which will run from Thursday, May 4 through Sunday, May 4. 9 July.
The newly launched Beginners Bonus will apply to scheduled junior land races and a $2,000 prize pool [$1,000 to the owner, $1,000 to the trainer] for each official start in the race. The Beginners Bonus Program, Open and State Breed, also applies to a minor 5 1/2 stake pairing on Sunday, the 11th. June at Tremont is worth $150,000 listed, and its chubby counterpart, Astoria is worth $150,000.
Also, trainers start a horse in any 2 year old race [dirt or turf] At the occasional spring/summer meet at the NYRA track, a $1,000 shipping bonus will be credited to their owner’s account.
The requirement for both bonuses includes that the horse must be declared an official starter. Horses placed on the underperforming and/or vet list will not be eligible for the bonus.
