This initiative is designed to provide women from low-income groups with hands-on training and grow the ecosystem of beauty professionals in India.
Paswwan led a three-day training program for 12 women as an extension of Nykaa Pro’s ‘Go With Pro’ brand ethos, the business announced in a press release today. March 8. The enterprise’s ‘Go With Pro’ initiative is designed to empower individuals to create a livelihood through beauty and grooming.
“True to the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, #EmbraceEquity– By leveling the playing field with equal education and opportunities for all, this program by Nykaa Pro was designed in partnership with Kajol R Paswwan to share the knowledge and experiences of her about professional beauty with beginners,” Nykaa announced in a press release. “The three-day training course focuses on the scope, career opportunities, and challenges of the industry and equips young women with hands-on and personalized training in the fundamentals of makeup and hairstyling techniques, and prepare them for future opportunities.”
Nykaa Pro partners with youth-led organizations based in Mumbai Project Baala and Junoon to identify and reach out to a group of young women who would best benefit from the course. These two nonprofits aim to empower low-income youth to provide them with job skills.
Nykaa launched Nykaa Pro in 2018 as a member-led content and commerce platform designed to serve beauty professionals. Nykaa Pro is currently serving over 27,800 Indian pin codes through multi-channel approach.
