Nuggets ‘Monte Morris: Jamal Murray looks ‘ready’ to return
The Denver Nuggets are on their way to the knockout stages despite being without point guard Jamal Murray all season. One of Murray’s teammates hinted Friday that the guard might be back.
Nuggets guard Monte Morris said Murray looked “ready” to compete and added that the guard was working out and jumping with both feet.
“His spirit (acumen) was there,” Morris said, via Sean Keeler of the Denver Post. “He is ready to go back there. He looks very good. He’s dancing and everything, (with) both feet. I guess it’s a matter of time, but hopefully we can bring him back.”
Morris can definitely jump the gun here. Coach Michael Malone sounded like a much more cautious note by refusing to let Murray out or at any point before Denver’s season ended. Things that appear more hopeful than they did a week or two agobut Murray doesn’t seem to have reached the point of filing a lawsuit.
Murray is recovering from an ACL tear he suffered last April. He looks sharp in glimpses we’ve seen of him at workBut there’s a huge difference between the gym and the pace of an NBA game.
