Nostalgic Upsets Venti Valentine Gazelle
NOSTALGIC (f, 3, Medaglia d’Oro–Been Here Before, by Tapit) added a banner day for Godolphin with a win over the popular Venti Valentine (Line of Fire) in Aqueduct’s GIII Gazelle S. Saturday. A dominant option claimant winner at Gulfstream this past March 3, the mixed-race was put out 4-1 here. Savings mid-package when Venti Valentine launched: 24.48 first quarter, the bay rose to third when half went in: 49.26. Godolphin and Mott also teamed up to win GI Carter H. with Speaker’s Corner (Street Sense) a race before and Brendan Walsh shouldered Godolphin in terms of house-line popularity (Medaglia d’Oro) to win the GIII Commonwealth S.
