‘Noisy’ and ‘hostile’ crowds await Isaac Chamberlain
Chris Billam-Smith warned Isaac Chamberlain he would face a hostile mob as they fought on Saturday night.
Live on Sky Sports Billam-Smith will headline main event at home in Bournemouth at the town’s International Center.
Events marked The 31-year-old’s first fight since his recent split with Matchroom. Tonight, Billam-Smith will be one step closer to his world title chance as he defends his Commonwealth and European Cruiser Class titles.
Before the event ‘The Gentleman’ told Sky Sports:
“I think (Chamberlain will be mentally tested). It will be very noisy in there, he will obviously have a crowd that is very hostile to him. “
Billam-Smith is unbeaten in six fights, since losing to Sky Sports boxer Richard Riakporhe, and half of the opponents have yet to hear the final bell.
In contrast, Chamberlain had two fewer games in that time and didn’t fight at the same level.
However, he killed Dilan Prasovic with a single shot seven months ago. The same opponent had been Lawrence Okolie’s unworthy challenger to the WBO World title three months earlier. Taking that opportunity, the champion finished the job in three innings.
Billam-Smith said Chamberlain will be working on a demanding night on Saturday night.
“I think every match I have, every fight I have is tiring the opponent because of the way I fight, and I think that’s one of my best attributes so I think it’s definitely going to be a lot of fun. tiring for him both mentally and physically.”
