LUCKY: A drone startup based in Noida, Tech Eagle has announced it has become the first company in the world to successfully deliver a vaccine to the livestock department of Arunachal Pradesh.
The start-up used a domestically developed hybrid drone -Vertiplane X3 — which is a fixed-wing electric vertical takeoff (VTOL) drone that is claimed to fly at a high speed. up to 120 km/h for 100 km on a single charge with a payload of 3 kg.
According to Vikram Singh Meena, founder and CEO of the startup with manufacturing unit in Gurugram, said: “The flight took off from Kangkong and delivered the cargo to Paglam — the distance in the air. 29 km, covered by the VertiplaneX3 drone in just 20 minutes. Apparently, the distance from Kangkong to Paglam is about 120 km, it takes about 4 hours to go all the way. ”
“Our drones deliver vaccines to the livestock department 12 times faster than delivering them on the ground,” he said.
The flight of this drone was inaugurated by Tage Taki, Minister of Agriculture, government of Arunachal Pradesh. The state government is working to strengthen the supply chain of the livestock department from the Lower Dibang Valley.
Tage Taki, said, “This is a historic event because drone technology has never been used before to deliver life-saving and therapeutic drugs in the veterinary field. The success of the test launch paved the way for even more use of this technology in the fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, etc.”
Mixed secretary, dairy and livestock division of the Indian government, Upamanyu Basu, who witnessed the event, said, “GOI is in the process of developing many other technologies to assist farmers in the industry. their job. The lead time between diagnosis and treatment should be the shortest, for humans or animals, so the delivery of an experimental vaccine should ease farmers’ worries.”
