Noida Cops Find Over Rs 2 Crore Cash In Car, Arrest 8. ‘Hawala Network’ Suspected

Noida police arrested eight people after cash worth more than Rs 2 was recovered from a car in Sector 58 on Thursday evening.
Those arrested have been identified as Jayanti Bhai from Ahmedabad, Sandip Sharma from Delhi, Vinay Kumar from Delhi, Abhijeet Hazra from North West Bengal, Rohit Jain from Noida Sector-56, Vipul from Delhi, Minesh Shah from Mumbai and Anuj from Indore.
Immediately after being dressed by the secret police, officials from the Income Tax Department arrived.
“It is expected that Rs 2 crore has been made to the hawala network. The interrogation of all detainees is ongoing,” the police said.
Police have received information about a possible hawala transaction in Area 55.
“The 58th Area Police Department received information that some hawala merchants are coming to make a transaction at Area-55 who have a lot of cash. The police team from 55 Noida Area were quick to respond. acted quickly on the information and arrested eight people,” police said.
A tally of the recovered proceeds will be carried out by the Income Tax Department after an investigation.
“Necessary investigation and action is being taken regarding the amount of cash recovered by the police and the missing persons,” the police added.
