Nobel Peace Prize: Moment NGO told on the phone it has won award

The Ukraine-based Center for Civil Liberties was jointly awarded the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize, along with Belarusian activist Ales Bialiatski and the Russian Civil Liberties Group Monument.

Olav Njoelstad, director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, phoned Oleksandra Romantsova, director general of the Center for Civil Liberties, shortly before the award was announced.
