NEW DELHI: Disgruntled JD(U) Leader Upendra Kushwaha on Monday launched his new party Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal After days of struggling with Bihar prime minister and party leader Nitish Kumar.
“We have decided to form a new party – Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal. This has been unanimously decided. I have been appointed as the party’s national president. The party will continue the legacy of the party. Karpoori Thakur. We will work to reject the deal made with RJD,” Kushwaha said.
Kushwaha, JD(U)’s parliamentary council chairman, added that many in JD(U) are concerned that CM Bihar is no longer “acting according to its will”.
“He [Bihar CM] now act on the suggestions of those around him. He cannot act on his own today as he has never made the effort to announce a successor… If Nitish Kumar had chosen a successor, he would not have to look to his neighbors to find one. ,” Kushwaha said.
He added: “Nitish Kumar did well at first but in the end, the path that he started walking on was bad for him and Bihar.
