Nissan looks Okay cut the fatlike yet its another one models hit the threshold for next year. This time it’s Rouge Sport, confirmed by a rep for company arrive Car and Driver.

If you read between the lines, confirmation of Rogue Sport’s death from Nissan product line It’s almost like a deep dive into the model: “As part of our Nissan NEXT plan, which focuses on prioritizing the core models and segments that bring the most benefit to customers, the production of Rogue Sport for America will end after the 2022 model year.” Damn.

Rogue Sport is a continuation model The odd automotive tradition is to apply “Sport” to a model and isn’t associated with anything sporty. Sports = Smaller. Nissan’s Rogue Sport was introduced for the 2018 model year and is an attempt by Nissan to add volume to the brand. It’s basically an Americanized version of the European Qashqai and is located between the smaller Juke and the regular Rogue. And it is cheap. The MSRP for a base 2018 Rogue Sport S is just over $21,000. And we all know Nissan likes attract credit challenged crowd.

Like I mentioned before – sport means less than for Fake. There has never been anything sporty about this. The only engine choice for the past five years has been a gutless 141-hp I4 mated to a CVT transmission. But hey, you can optionally it with AWD!

Like the years passed Rogue Sport began to create less meaningful than its original intention. All while Rogue regularly receives a much needed redesign, Nissan Juke’s axleand that was replaced by another small cross, Kicks which is already a thing in South America. Valuation of The Rogue Sport also raised the price, which also doesn’t help cement its purpose, starting at $26,000 for the base model (including destination), which overlaps with the Kicks in price, while being smaller than that of the Rogue Sport..

We might never know if Nissan’s quantity plan will work, thanks brand group sales of the Rogue Sport with the regular Rogue. It may not matter though I’m sure no one, not even Nissan, will miss it.
