Nintendo Switch Online adds three more Sega Genesis games, including Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball
Nintendo has released its latest batch of games for users who subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, and this time, it’s three more Sega Genesis games.
More specifically, you can now play Space Harrier II, Shining Force II, and Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball on your Switch through the service. These three games join the recently added Sega Genesis games, Altered Beast, ToeJam & Earl, Dynamite Headdy, Sword of Vermilion and Thunder Force IIas Banjo-Kazooie, was added to the service in January. Space Harrier II
Space Harrier II was first released in 1988 and was one of the original launch titles for the Mega Drive (called Sega Genesis in Japan) and one of the six Sega Genesis launch titles in the United States. Nintendo says Space Harrier II is “a popular launch title for the Genesis/Mega Drive,” and that “in the sequel to this popular 3D shooter series, Harrier will take to the skies once more to protect Defend Fantasy Land from a mysterious invader. ”
Shining Force II
Shining Force II is a tactical RPG that was released in 1993 and although it is a sequel to the series, it is not a direct sequel to the first shining force. Nintendo says the “second entry in the popular tactical RPG series” features “further strategic combat”. In it, “Sir Astral’s squire, Bowie, must assemble an army of light from all the races of the world to stop evil from taking over the land.”
Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball
Sonic The Hedgehog Spinball is the first of several pinball-related spinoffs in the Sonic series. Originally released for the Mega Drive in 1993, Nintendo says “the world’s fastest hedgehog plunges into the pinball scene in a whole new adventure” and that “in this action pinball game, anyone can also be picked up and enjoyed, collecting Chaos Emeralds, and saving four worlds from Dr. Robotnik. ”
