Movie links are back and smaller than ever! After the free Pac-Man-style adaptation of Inisherin’s Banshees And cocaine bear, we now have a game for Renfield, the comedy-horror game “Nic Cage is Dracula”. It has been turned into a proper way Like vampire survivors bullet paradise shooter called Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood and it’s currently in early access.
The film follows vampire assistant Renfield (played by Nicholas Hoult) as he tries to quit a toxic job and leave his boss Dracula (Nic Cage) behind. The game is “Inspired by the main movie” and puts you in Renfield’s overworked, underpaid position. I mean, you’re going through a top-down pixelated version of New Orleans to find a dinner for dear Dracula – I mean anthropomorphic dinner.
In true auto-roguelike style, the Renfield game will give you loads of raging enemies, while you become increasingly unstoppable. Your upgrades go from standard stat boosts (sometimes with names like I deserve to be happy) to flashier weapons like decorative discs that act like boomerangs. Every upgrade is useful to the game’s bosses, and you’ll then unlock more playable characters from the movie, including Akwafina’s suspicious policewoman.
for a short time blog post, the developers have laid out a vague roadmap. They’ve committed to adding new levels, enemies, upgrades, and characters through their early access party, but there’s no timeframe on when to expect the aforementioned updates. It looks like one of the better auto-shooter roguelikes around, and who knows, maybe it will feature an actual vampire in the game before Vampire Survivors. Despite that, other developers will need to work hard to get past Nic Cage’s inevitable final boss.
Renfield, the movie, hits theaters tomorrow (April 14), while Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood is available now and costs £4.5/€5/$5 On steam.
