Nicola Bulley: Divers searching river and helicopter circling near where mum of two went missing | UK News

Divers were searching the river and a police helicopter was flying around the area near where Nicola Bulley went missing more than three weeks ago.

A road has been blocked off in the area along the River Wyre in St Michaels on Wyre, Lancashire.

It has been the focus of an intense search since Ms Bulley, 45, was last seen at around 9.10am on January 27 while walking her dog.

Sky News reporter Inzamam Rashid said the helicopter was in the air for about 25 minutes.

A police drone was also used.

The search site is about a mile from where Miss Bulley was last discovered.

Officers said their main working theory was that the mother-of-two fell into the river, but her friends and family insisted there was “no evidence” to support that theory.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Interior Minister Suella Braverman have expressed concerns about the disclosure of personal information about Ms.

Police said she suffered “important problems with alcohol” due to “constant struggles with menopause”.

But Miss Bulley’s family says they “knowing in advance that Lancashire Police have released a statement with some personal details about our Nikki”.

They said in a statement: “While we know Nikki would not want this, there are still people speculating and threatening to sell stories about her. This is appalling and needs to be stopped.

“The public must focus on finding her and not making up myths about her personal life.”

Dog walker who found Nicola Bulley’s phone on a bench tells Sky News he thinks “This is incorrect” when he saw the device the morning she went missing.

The man named Ron also said that he saw the wallpaper on his phone showing Miss Bulley and her partner, Paul Ansellbefore the police were called and she was reported missing.

He said he provided a full statement to the police.
