According to The Shade Room, Nicki Minaj has detained in Amsterdam on Saturday (May 25) for “mild suspicion of drug extortion.” Hours later, the ‘Super Bass’ rapper was released and headed to Manchester to continue the European leg of her ‘Pink Friday 2’ tour.
On Sunday, Minaj took to X, formerly known as Twitter to respond to an old post about the arrest of Ari Lennox in Amsterdam in 2021. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Lennox was reportedly arrested in the city for disorderly conduct. However, the singer accused the government of racism and discrimination, claiming that she was racially profiled.
Minaj responded to Lennox’s post about the incident and said it could have resulted in a tragedy Sandra Bland case.
“She is “full of emotions.” She was arrested because she was full of emotions in AmsterDAM. Hmmmm interesting. I had no idea this was a “thing” out there. Who spoke up for her? Could easily have been another Sandra Bland incident. I’m so glad she survived and is healthy,” Minaj wrote on X.

After being detained by police in Amsterdam in 2021, Ari Lennox spoke out indignantly on Twitter. Furthermore, the ‘Pressure’ musician explained the incident and told her fans that she is not okay after this situation.
“My only regret is how I reacted to the racism and discrimination I experienced. I wanted to explain what happened to me but KLM made it clear they were never interested in hearing it from the jump. It hurts to be silent like this. It’s painful what I went through. I disagree,” Lennox said in a post.
Shortly after her statement, Lennox provided fans with an update on her health.
“Hey love, I’m safe. Thank you so much for your prayers and love,” Lennox stated.

Some supporters stood outside her hotel and happily chanted “Nicki is free.” She took to Instagram Live again to capture the moment as she shouted back to the group and told them that she “love them so much.”
