Nick Saban arguably the greatest college football coach of all time and what he did during his tenure with Alabama Crimson Tide back that up.
Alabama is consistently – if not sadly – the best team or one of the best in college football. Saban considers it a science. So much so that Alabama recruits players based on certain stats and location-based athletic characteristics.
So is it any surprise that Alabama finds itself standing on top? AP Pre-season Top 25 Again?
In the first poll of the 2022 season, ‘Bama was placed in 1st place ahead of Ohio State and even Georgia (3rd). Remember that Georgia beat the Crimson Tide in the national championship game last season. Clemson and Notre Dame check in at number 4 and number 5, respectively.
This is the ninth time Alabama has started its season at #1 in the AP Poll. Perhaps most impressive is the fact that Crimson Tide has ranked in the top 3 in a row for the past 13 seasons.
Already a formidable opponent for everyone on the schedule, keep in mind that Alabama is nearly unstoppable in 2022. The Heisman Trophy winner features a Tide Bryce Young in midfield, National Defensive Player of the Year Will Anderson Jr at fullback, and Saban was scorned for topping them all.
