NHRC notice to Centre, Rajasthan as 3 students die by suicide in Kota | India News
PATNA: Three days after three training practitioners, two of them from Bihar, died by suicide at Kota in Rajasthan, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Wednesdays set the Center and Rajasthan government’s announcement on the announcement, remarking that “private training academies need to be regulated” where students are subjected to “punishment pressure”. It made the announcements after receiving suo motu awareness of a media report about three students who ended their lives on December 11.
The Commission considers the content of the media report, if true, to be a serious human rights issue.
“Over the years, Kota has become a private training center for NEET aspirants. They are charging a huge amount. Students, from all over the country, are staying in dorms/paying rent with high expectations of success. This is putting them under a lot of pressure. There is a need to regulate private training academies,” the committee said in a statement.
