Earlier this week, Disciplinary Officer Sue L. Robinson ruled that Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will be suspended for the first six games of the upcoming NFL season for violating the league’s individual conduct policy. On Wednesday, the NFL announced that it would appeal the six-match suspension.

NFL said in a statement,
“The NFL has notified the NFLPA that it will appeal Judge Robinson’s disciplinary decision and file a summary this afternoon.”
Like before reported, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) announced earlier this week that it would “take sides,” Robinson ruled.
Robinson, a former district judge for the United States, and appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association, wrote in a 16-page report that the NFL has successfully “cared for the burden of proof, overwhelming evidence.” , that Mr. Watson violated the (personal conduct) policy “by engaging in” sexual assault; conduct that poses a real danger to the safety and well-being of others; and engage in conduct that undermines or jeopardizes the integrity of the NFL. “
Based on ESPNThe NFLPA has until Friday to submit a written response to the NFL’s appeal, from which Goodell will decide whether he will hear the appeal or appoint someone else to do so.
Watson has been accused of exhibiting inappropriate and non-consensual sexual behavior during work sessions with massage therapists between March 2020 and March 2021, while he remains a part of the Houston Texans. As a result, he was subject to 24 civil lawsuits from his accusers. He recently settled 23 of 24 lawsuits.
Watson previously denied the charges against him and maintained his innocence.
