New Vocation Day at Fair Grounds postponed to March 23
Due to hurricanes, high winds, power outages and flight cancellations in Kentucky, the “New Vocations Day at Races” event scheduled for today at the Fair Grounds has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday, March 23. Despite their efforts, Mother Nature thwarted travel plans to New Orleans from Kentucky on Friday and early Saturday morning for both retired jockey and jockey Rosie Napravnik and New Vocations CEO Anna Ford, and the decision to postpone the event was made.
Jason Boulet, senior director of racing for Fair Grounds, said: “We are disappointed that we had to postpone the event, but are delighted that we were able to reschedule it. “Despite the inclement weather in Kentucky, Rosie and Anna did their best to make their travel plans to New Orleans, Mother Nature had other ideas. We are looking forward to Vocations Day. New at the Races on March 23. It would be a welcome addition to the Louisiana Derby week.”
