New Skoda Vision 7S trailer preview of future electric SUV

Skoda confirmed that its upcoming new design language will be introduced by a concept model called Vision 7S – and released a teaser image showing that it will have a novel cabin layout for maximum seven people.

The announcement confirming the vehicle’s scale and dimensions was revealed in a design studio image earlier this year. As the name suggests, Vision 7S will be a Large SUVand by lightening the official image you can see a charging cable attached. Therefore, it is likely that the Vision 7S will preview not only a new design direction for Skoda but also a seven-seater. fully electric model.

The top-down sketch shows a practical concept in a 6+1 layout, with two adult seats in each of the three rows and then a novel center-mounted child seat, which will place a baby right in the middle of traffic. This could be a car display element, with the space in the middle of the car eventually being used for three seats, to provide a full seven-seater.

Other elements of note include what appears to be a light bar in the middle of the top of the dashboard – likely a reference to Skoda’s Bohemian glass culture – and, in a sign of burgeoning confidence development of the brand, a Skoda text symbol on the outside of the C-pillar.

Skoda says that the Vision 7S will change the dashboard configuration when the driver wants to relax – while recharging, for example. The steering wheel and instrument cluster will slide forward, while the large central touchscreen will switch from portrait to landscape to better suit entertainment viewing. This is confirmed by the ‘Drive / Relax’ switch in the center console, which illustrates the rotating screen and video preview image, which shows a landscape screen with shortcuts to media sources such as YouTube and Netflix. .

Skoda also says the car will have a backpack integrated into the back of the second row of seats and a phone mount on the back of the front seats to allow passengers in the middle row to entertain on the go.

No official date has been given for the concept reveal – this will mark the arrival of a new design language, labeled ‘Modern solid’. However, former Skoda boss Thomas Schafer told us earlier this year that it will go public in early September.
