New name for Goffs National Hunt Sale Honors Champion Chaser
The Goffs Top National Hunting Sale, formerly known as the Goffs Land Rover Sale, will now be called the Goffs Arkle Sale in honor of the greatest chaser in history , Arkle, who was sold at Goffs.
This year’s Goffs Arkle sale will be held in partnership with the Land Rover Defender and the horse supplier who wins the renamed €100,000 Goffs Defender Bumper at the Punchestown Festival will also win a Defender Brand new Hard Top.
Henry Beeby, CEO of Goffs said: “Many familiar names in the National Hunt have been criticized by Goffs over the past century, with Arkle being the most famous. “He was sold at the Goffs at the age of 3 to coach Tom Dreaper on behalf of owner Anne, Duchess of Westminster, and after a remarkable career that included three Cheltenham Gold Cups, he is still is the yardstick by which all champions are measured.”
The Goffs Arkle sale will run from June 13-15. Nominations are currently open on Goffs website.
