New KTM Duke Discovered, Coming Soon in India

KTM Duke low-displacement models will be comprehensively updated, with changes in engine, chassis and design.

A next-generation KTM Duke small-capacity model has been spotted testing in India and it confirms many of the upcoming updates seen before, while also revealing some exciting new details about the world Dukes. next system.

Let us preface this story by mentioning the obvious and acknowledging that spy footage isn’t quite as clear-cut as you’re used to. That said, we had the opportunity to ride with the test mule for quite some time and observed many interesting details in the process, not all of which are recognizable. out from the images.

Testing the next generation KTM Duke in India: details

This next-generation KTM Duke was spotted with LED headlights and a TFT display, features only seen in the 250 and 390 Dukes in India. But this test mule also has an under-belly exhaust rather than a side muffler, suggesting it could be one of the lower-displacement models. There are two possibilities here: either the next-generation 390 Duke will return with an under-belly muffler (which is less likely), or this is a Duke 125/200 being tested. Therefore, if the latter possibility is true, then the smaller Dukes will either have a TFT dashboard and LED headlights in India, or this is an overseas model being tested (e.g. Duke 125 in the UK already have TFT screens and LED headlights).

The next-generation KTM Duke product line will be equipped with a new chassis, with changes in the main frame, subframe and even a single rear shock absorber. The bodywork will also be completely new and even many of the rear subframes appear to have been covered. In addition, the fuel tank extension has also been revised and the new Dukes look set to look a bit sharper. What we also observed on this test mule is that the motor housing is a little bit different visually than the current bikes, which suggests some changes in this department as well. It will be interesting to see if the rumors about the 390 lineup increasing to 399cc are true.

The front suspension doesn’t have any adjustability on the fork ends, again suggesting this is probably a lower-powered model. What’s changed for the platform, however, are the wheels and brakes, which now look a lot like what you’d find on the updated RC sports car lineup. The disc carrier has been completely eliminated, with the rotor now mounted directly to the wheel spokes.

The next-generation Duke line will have new taillights that illuminate in a T-shape, and the headlights are also different from the current model. The dash TFT seems to be the same unit as the current models and also seems to have the same graphics.

The next-generation KTM Dukes have been spotted running tests for quite some time, both overseas and in India. That being said, this latest test mule is still camouflaged and some of the body panels have a bit of a rough finish, suggesting that there’s probably still some work to be done before we see the release. official launch, possibly as early as 2023.
