New Horizon Forbidden West Patch Adds VRR, ‘Balanced’ Graphics Mode and more
The guerrilla and PlayStation game have been solid, making Horizon Forbidden West an even better game than it was at launch with update more transmog, shimmer image editing, improved graphics, and more. Months later, the team is still adding new things to the game, exactly what it is today Patch 1.17 for open world role-playing games.
More specific, Patch 1.17 brings three new things to the game: variable refresh rate (VRR) support, high refresh rate (HFR) support and a Graphics mode “balanced” introduces a 40Hz refresh rate for monitors that support it.
The game only supports VRR on monitors or TVs with VRR, and if it does, you can expect “improved dynamic resolution ratios above 60Hz”. Both VRR and HFR target refresh rates between 60Hz and 120Hz, so if your monitor supports it, you’ll see more frames than ever before when playing Horizon Forbidden West, making for a smooth gaming experience. but more.
However, that’s not all Patch 1.17 does. Lots of fixes and improvements come with the new PlayStation 5 features discussed above.
