Honda’s motobike unveiled the new feature-packed 11th generation Accord sedan civicAttractive exterior and interior design, more technology and improved hybrid powertrain options. The all-new Accord replaces 10th generation modelwas revealed globally in 2017.

The Accord is one of Honda’s oldest brands, and at a time when automakers are ditching sedans, the new Accord seems to be a breath of fresh air in the sea of SUVs.

  • Big difference in styling compared to the old Accord
  • Comes with full-featured Honda Sensing ADAS
  • Get turbo-petrol and hybrid engine options

New Honda Accord: exterior design

In terms of design, the new Accord’s classic three-box sedan shape is indispensable – a big difference from its fastback predecessor. Like the 11th generation Honda Civic, the new Accord features a smooth and clean surface. The sleek headlights, running along the wide and hexagonal grille, create a smoky effect. The front bumper with a wide central air intake is quite simple and is only contrasted by silver borders at the ends.

The shape of the new Accord is characterized by strong belts and chrome surrounds around the window lines. It rides on 17-inch dual-tone wheels as standard, although it can also be optional with 19-inch units. At the rear, it has a clean tailgate and large taillights with a nearly full-length LED strip that breaks only at the Honda logo in the center. There’s also a glossy black trim at the base that runs all the way around the sedan.

New Honda Accord: interior and features

On the inside, the new Honda looks a lot like the Civic and New CR-V. It has a 10.2-inch instrument cluster for the driver and a 12.3-inch touchscreen – the largest ever produced by Honda – on higher trims and the top-end variant comes with Google built-in. The AC vents are neatly hidden behind the mesh pattern on the dashboard, and the physical knobs and dials for the HVAC are a welcome touch.

The new Accord also supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Other notable features include more supportive body-stabilization seats, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a 6-inch display screen, and connected car technology. Safety features include 10 airbags, and Honda’s ADAS feature set includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist and more.

New Honda Accord: powertrain options

For the new Accord, Honda has discontinued the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that was available on the previous generation. The automaker is now offering an updated 192hp, 260Nm, 1.5-liter twin-turbo petrol engine on lower variants mated to a CVT. Higher variants get a new two-motor hybrid system that uses a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Atkinson Cycle petrol engine. The hybrid powertrain, where the engine and electric motor are mounted side by side, produces a combined output of 204 hp and 335 Nm.

Honda Accord in India

The Accord was launched in India in 2000 and is the automaker’s second model in India, after the City. Honda has offered four generations of the Accord in India, where the first three were assembled here. The fourth version – which was introduced as a hybrid vehicle – is a complete CBU import for a short time.
